Work condition

Kitchen assistants work in shifts, on weekends as well as on holidays. In most cases, they work indoors, at high temperatures and humidity. Because they work with knives and other sharp tools, cutting and burning are almost unavoidable. It is required to wear uniforms and keep the hat.

Work tools

Some of the cooking utensils are knives, pots, pans, ovens, kitchen cleaning utensils etc.

Necessary education and training

This occupation is taught in vocational secondary schools or through informal education, e.g. training at the workplace or other training.
